The Association of Ontario Midwives is the professional body representing midwives and the practice of midwifery in the province of Ontario.  Ontario Registered Midwives (RMs), and Aboriginal Midwives practising under the exemption in the Midwifery Act (AMs) are eligible to apply to become voting members of the AOM.   Formerly registered midwives and midwifery students currently enrolled in the Midwifery Education Program (MEP) or International Midwifery Pre-registration Program (IMPP) are eligible to apply to become non-voting members.
