Neonatal Resuscitation Program
Midwives must complete a Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) ever 12 months as part of CMO requirements. The AOM is now offering highly interactive, practical NRP workshops in Toronto at the AOM office.
The AOM NRP provides streamlined administration and continuous support regarding questions and concerns; state-of-the-art equipment, including Anne dolls for intubation/UVC practice; and a central Toronto location with multiple date options.
- Completion of the online NRP exam (on the entire textbook) must be completed no more than 30 days prior to the course date.
- The exam is provided by the Canadian Paediatric Society in partner with HealthStream.
- The exam registration fee is not included in the AOM course fee.
- Bring a printed copy of your exam certificate to the course.
Neonatal Resuscitation Textbook 7th Edition. The textbook can be purchased through the Canadian Paediatric Society online bookstore. The cost is not included in the AOM course fee.
Supplies and Equipment
The AOM will provide a UVC and Intubation kits along with the use of Anne dolls for UVC/intubation practice for the duration of the workshop. However, it is STRONGLY encouraged that participants bring their personal UVC and intubation kits to become familiar with their own equipment.

Each NRP date begins at 8:30 a.m. and runs approximately four to six hours, depending on the learner experience level.

NRP Registration and Website Security Policies
Space is limited so register early. We are unable to confirm your registration until full payment has been received. Online registration is recommended to reserve your place. Registrations sent by fax outside of office hours are deemed received the following weekday morning. Registrations sent by mail are deemed received when they arrive at the office, not the date mailed.

All refund and transfer requests will be subject to a $50 administrative fee. (The fee will increase to $100 if the request is made less than 7 days prior to the workshop.) Registration fees are refundable only if a cancellation request is made 30 days or more prior to the workshop date. Refund requests made less than 30 days prior to the workshop date and for "no shows" will only be considered under exceptional circumstances (not births).
Midwives registered for the NRP are expected to be off call for the entire workshop.
Due to the nature of the NRP workshop, children are not permitted; however, those who are breastfeeding are welcome providing that the breastfeeding mother also brings a support person to care for her child for the duration of the workshop.
Please note that the Association of Ontario Midwives reserves the right to cancel an NRP due to insufficient registrations, three weeks prior to the course, in which case registrants will receive a full refund of registration fees paid.
