Professional Development Fund
Development Fund is provided by the Association of Ontario Midwives
(AOM) and funded by the Government of Ontario. The fund is used to
reimburse professional development activities for midwives in order to
enhance skill, knowledge, practice and quality of care.
The objectives of the Professional Development Fund are to:
- Support positive perinatal and maternal clinical outcomes by
funding midwives to attend conference and courses that are directly
relevant to midwifery practice.
- Support inter-professional collaboration
(IPC) between midwives and other health professionals by increasing the
opportunity to interact at educational functions.
Every AOM voting member
who lives/practices in Ontario is eligible to claim up to $1200 a year
for reimbursement for professional development activities or up to $1500 for graduate studies completed
between April 1, 2016 and March 31, 2017.
For professional development activities completed between April 1, 2016 -
March 31, 2017, mailed applications must be postmarked by March 31, 2017.
PD Fund applications may also be sent by fax or scanned and sent by
